ConnectYourCare, Wiley Collaborate to Create HSAs for Dummies®

New e-book helps health savings account owners manage their funds and maximize savings

ConnectYourCare and John Wiley & Sons, Inc., publisher of the best-selling “For Dummies” book series, partnered to create the new HSAs for Dummies®, ConnectYourCare Special Edition. The new e-book simplifies health savings accounts (HSAs) so that account owners can effectively manage their health care funds and maximize their savings now and for the future.

Despite the fact that HSAs have been on the market for over 10 years now, research shows that consumers still don’t fully understand them. A 2013 Fidelity Investments survey revealed that respondents are unaware of the benefits of their HSAs, even confusing HSAs with a similar pre-tax savings tool — health care flexible spending accounts (FSAs). This lack of understanding directly impacts consumers’ grasp of the value of HSAs and likely hinders the HSA adoption rate. The knowledge gap is particularly acute for the newly insured who need ongoing education about insurance terms, tips on maximizing their benefits and guidance on allocating funds to cover health care expenses.
